Sustain Writers Guild Kenya

From 16th June 2014, we have worked together to grow a true home of Writers; The Writers Centre. Our home is characterized by selfless service and viewing writing and reading, not just as a hobby, but as a perfect tool to serve God and humanity. Through this, we have seen writers grow not only in their craft but also as human beings. We have seen others who never thought they would write publish books and shed tears as we launch their books. We have seen many other ideas pop up and grow into setups that truly serve the world. We would love to see the impact beyond our lifetime.

We would wish to give many people a chance to grow and serve others. That’s why we have proposed a Sustainability Fee. This is an amount that is voluntarily paid by our writers after securing a chance to earn from a service offered. Let’s say, for instance, one attends one of our events and from there, they meet a client who gives them a job, a sustainability fee will be taking a percentage of the earning from this work and send to Writers Guild Kenya, as a way of saying, “through your efforts, I got this chance and I am showing my gratitude and support of other projects so that someone else can have a similar chance”. This could happen directly to opportunities secured in Writers Guild Kenya or those that are secured indirectly. Let’s say you are happy with the activities done at Writers Guild Kenya and you would wish to commit a part of your earning to support the activities. This is another avenue through which you can reach out towards this end.

Another avenue is where someone commits their property or part of what they own for the prudent utilization by Writers Guild Kenya. Let’s say someone owns space and they would wish to rent out space to WGK to hold events. That’s contributing to the sustainability of WGK through in-kind sponsorship. All are welcome, as long as they come from the heart, given voluntarily and in good faith.

All in all, whether directly or indirectly, a sustainability fee is an amount that you voluntarily offer to sustain our operations beyond our lifetime for the good of those we serve and the world in general. For such payments, you may use the following procedure or reach out to us directly through write@writersguild.co.ke or +254 751 562750
